BEFORE THE WEDDING
So at this point... you've been looking around at wedding photographer's sites, waiting for pictures to load, mentally creating a list of a trillion questions to ask, and probably feeling a little inundated with everything that is wedding photography. Let's face it, you are probably spending a pretty decent amount of money to pull off your wedding day but much more important than that, you are entrusting a photographer to capture your love and reflect your months and months of planning. So here is how it all goes down...
Step 1: You find us and love our photography and our prices. You call and talk to Ryan, AKA, the rock. He's relaxed, fun, easy-going, and principled (professionally and personally he always fights the good fight for fairness for all and treating people right.) You'll check dates and tell us a bit about you and your upcoming wedding. Ask questions and get upfront answers.
Step 2: Coffee/meet each other time! (Kate sneaks in her coffee and wedding detail addiction here). You need to know us and we love to know you. In fact, the more comfortable around each other we are, the better the pictures are. The photographers are your shadows on your wedding day. It's nice to know and trust us beforehand. Kate will spring a thousand random wedding questions on you.. like what are your colors, where did you get your invites, who's walking you down the aisle, etc. She has an unhealthy obsession for this stuff! You also get to look over our basic contract and discuss the details.
You'll leave having held breath-taking photos in your hand and knowing that we have normal personalities as well as mad skills.
Step 3: You decide you want to book us. You send the deposit (1/2 of the overall price to book and 1/2 at the wedding - please note this is the system for our preferred venue pricing only). We send out the final contract for you to sign. No surprises, you've seen it all before.
Step 4: We check in a week or two before the wedding. We go over the final rundown on the day, tentative schedule, rain plan, etc.
THE WEDDING DAY EXPERIENCE
We arrive, Ryan in a suit and Kate in all black/dark professional clothes. We say hello and you get to introduce us to the special people involved in your day. After that, we discreetly capture your story as it unfolds throughout the day.
During the actual wedding our style tends to fall more on the photojournalism side, documenting the story from the bride and groom's perspective. Ryan covers the groom's day and Kate covers it from the bride's perspective. The atmosphere is simply more relaxed with the men together and the women together. Ryan loves blending into the room and watching the story unfold. Kate loves capturing your details, those jaw-dropping shots and emotion-filled moments.
The wedding portraits are the time to get the really creative, fun shots (don't worry there's plenty of creative, fun shots taken during the ceremony/reception as well!) Generally the best shots come from letting you be natural and not posed together. We can give more direction if desired - but we always steer clear of you looking unnatural or setup.
Ultimately, your photographs will tell the story of you two as a couple with our style taking second fiddle to you. When you look back at your photographs, you will be torn between rushing to find new wall spots for those jaw-dropping shots and reliving your wedding day as it truly happened.
AFTER THE WEDDING
Viewing & Receiving: Your sneak peek appears on the blog about 1 to 2 weeks after the wedding day. Within 6 to 8 weeks, you'll get an email telling you that your online gallery is up and running! It'll be password protected and allow you, your friends and your family to easily view and order prints. About a week or two after that you will receive a copy of your high-quality digital negatives in JPEG format on CDs/DVDs.
Photo Storage: During the wedding we keep each series of photographs. There are two of us, which means almost everything is captured on two cameras. Often we go through and delete the unflattering ones or the lesser duplicates. We never delete entire sections of your wedding - we are experienced professionals and promise you that your story is always kept intact. It's sad to even have to say that, but we want you to know what to ask vendors and what to expect.
Your photos are always kept in a minimum of two places. After your wedding, we download the pictures onto two computers before clearing the disks. Once we are sure they are on there, we create back up DVDs with all the unedited images (kept safely in your project folder). We edit the keepers and then make final DVDs for our files that match exactly what you receive as your final images. The final images stay on our hard drive for 2 years and the disks are kept for a minimum of 5 years.
Although we keep the unedited photos, we are confident that you will love our editing and great eye. Your final images will tell your complete story and be everything you imagine from a professional. Plus, they'll be stored safe and sound.
