Carla + Andy Married at Sweetwater Inn! (Getting Ready Shots)

Yep, it’s undeniable at this point, the post for Carla and Andy’s wedding is going to be full of detail shots and sweet moments. I just can’t help myself, their flowers and detail choices (even the groom’s party’s shoes) were phenomenal and their sweet moments are just too precious to not share. So some traditional shots might get bumped off or else Carla and Andy might start to take over the entire blog. Anyway, onwards! Thanks to Andy and Carla for sharing such a beautiful day with us, both in the details and in the interactions of you both and all your family and guests!

Shortly after we arrived, the first happy cry of the day happened. So sweet. Carla is in the back trying desperately to keep from crying and her sister…. well…. lost that battle:)

Megan and Liam Big Wedding Day! Part 1

Last year we covered Megan and Liam’s courthouse wedding and we loved them and their families. They are upbeat, goofy and willing to do whatever for a great photo. It doesn’t hurt that they are also incredibly sweet and considerate people with everyone they meet. So, as I’m sure you can guess, I was excitedly awaiting their big wedding day at the Thomas Center in Gainesville. As expected, it was a joy to work with them that day. Megan was gorgeous and all the men (even little Jackson the ring bearer) were decked out and very dapper. Here are some of our favorites from the getting ready shots. Enjoy!

colorful garland roundup!

Perhaps one of the most omportant thing for pictures… other than the photographer of course… is the walls. Here’s some fantastic colorful garlands that add a little extra pop – so fun! The confetti garland and petite fanion garland can be found at Twig and the gorgeous fabric flower garlands are at Dolci Odille. wedding garland roundup

Walker’s Landing – Lisa and Ronnie’s Wedding!

lisa and ronnie blog1Meet Lisa and Ronnie. They are pretty amazing and I have to say, they also made some amazing choices for their wedding. In fact, I was so taken by their location and set up that this first post is dedicated to showing you Lisa and Ronnie’s great venue choice – Walker’s Landing in Amelia Island, Florida. It’s stunning and everything feels nautical and oh so Florida, but not in the cheesy way. From the woodwork to the view of the marshes to the fireplace to the blue sky that floods in through the windows, it was gorgeous.walkers landing wedding 2 amelia islandwalkers landing wedding 1 amelia islandwalkers landing wedding 3 amelia islandwalkers landing wedding 4 amelia islandwalkers landing wedding 6 amelia islandwalkers landing wedding 5 amelia island

Rifle Paper Co.

Just found this shop the other day and I’m in love with their stuff. Any day now, they will be coming out with wedding templates for invitations – exciting!! In the meantime, I wanted to share some of their custom work and their prints for sale. Two of my favorites are the custom fans and poster for the witnesses of the wedding. The poster is such a wonderful way to take home a piece of design from your wedding day as a keepsake – and who doesn’t want great art on their wall? The fans are wonderful because… well… it’s Florida in summer and everyone is already starting to grab random pieces of papers as makeshift fans. How much better to have these adorable fans? Okay enough… I’m sure you want to see the goods and I’m starting to rambe. Lacey & Logan Wedding (Part 2)

blog lacey logan wedding 3 The final installment of Lacey and Logan! Although they had to make the last minute rain call and move indoors, the ceremony went off without a hitch and (believe it or not) whizzed by in less than six minutes! blog lacey logan wedding 1

They choose a chili and cupcakes theme! There were three different kinds of chili and cupcakes on every table as favors – such a good idea! blog lacey logan wedding 2

Thanks, Lacey and Logan for letting u capture your day!!

Happy June!

It’s felt like summer to me for quite a while now and I’m so happy that now that June is here. It means we are smack dab, indisputably in summer. Boat rides, lazy days, storms rolling in every afternoon, and that feeling of summer from being a kid (even though now we work, that feeling is still there, you know?). Anyway, each month I trek over to Design Sponge and check out their monthly post of a new desktop background. You can find them here. Each month a new artist contributes. This one in particular I wanted to share because the colors just feel like summer to me. Yep, you guessed it, it’s my background now.

Wild horses and Cumberland Island

Last Saturday I went over to Cumberland Island. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the island, there is a limit of how many people can travel over there each day, so the island remains fairly pristine. Kayaking over there was amazing and it was gorgeous hanging out on the island. The island is home to wild horses and I was so happy to stumble across them and get the chance to snap some photos. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day.

Oh, and I hope you enjoy the new slideshow feature! If you’ like to see it full screen, click the button in the lower right with the four arrows.

Lacey and Logan Wedding! (Part 1)

Last month we covered Lacey and Logan’s wedding at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens in Gainesville. Since Lacey and Logan were getting ready in different spots, Ryan and I split up for the getting ready shots. The atmosphere with the bridesmaids and Lacey was awesome. They just enjoyed each other and getting ready (despite some of the minor setbacks of the day). Here are some of my favorite shots from the first part of their big day…

Hope you all had a wonderful week and have an even better weekend!

Portland!!!

001 blog portland 1-3051You guessed it, I’m posting from Portland and loving my time here so far. In case any of you head to Portland visit like I did, here’s my little guide of my favorite places I’ve discovered. For those that don’t, I hope you enjoy the photos and my sharing!

Crowsenberg’s Half and Half
923 Southwest Oak Street
Portland, OR 97205-2804

Today I ate one of the best sandwiches of my life, the William Tell, from this great little hole in the wall coffee/sandwich shop. They even have deviled eggs! The guy working there was incredibly friendly (in true Portland style) and their ice tea made me wonder why I never order it anywhere (the guy said it would be a guilty pleasure and so I decided to try). The top photo is obviously the store and the watercolor paintings hung on the opposite wall above the bar stools. Anyway, it’s a must for anyone hopping off the Blue Max line to go to the Pearl District. blog portland 1-12

Powell’s Books
1005 West Burnside Street
Portland, OR 97209

When researching Portland I became really excited to visit Powell’s, and then less so when I got here. But I’m so happy I actually went. Powell’s takes up a whole city block and has a coffee shop and tons of rooms/floors of books. I was in book heaven.blog portland 1-10

Meet Liz (Matt is busy playing on his iPhone which is why he wasn’t in this one) who I am staying with. They are one of my favorite couple friends. We’re on the Max…. the train/metro of Portland.blog portland 1-11

Portland has these tiny artistic touches, like the tiny gold birds inlaid in the sidewalk at the Max station. I adore them.

Our day trip on Sunday took us to Bethel Heights winery outside of Salem. I completely lucked out with the blue skies and gorgeous weather.

Moonstruck Chocolate Cafe
526 Northwest 23rd Avenue
Portland, OR 97210-3207

Moonstruck has the best hot cocoa I’ve ever had! As you can see, there’s tons of little chocolates you can buy too. Honestly, the foodies that we are, we were pretty stuffed already when we arrived and didn’t try any of those.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my mini Portland city guide! I’ll be back in Florida on the 24th.

Megan and Liam Portrait Shoot!

Here are a few of our favorites from our portrait shoot with Megan and Liam. It was raining the day of their courthouse ceremony and so Ryan and I offered to break our time with them in two and finish at a later date. The result? An amazing shoot at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens. We’re counting down to their big walk down the aisle in May and can’t wait!

Welcome Ashlynn Grace!!!

Sometimes I just can’t believe how grateful I am for choosing the thing that I love for my job. Today, as I edit, I’ve got a goofy grin on my face because I just feel really lucky to be me (cheesy, I know, but true). Not too long ago Ryan and I did a maternity shoot for Seth and Stephanie. Yesterday I got an email from them that her water broke and they were in the hospital. This morning I met little Ashlynn Grace, thirteen hours old and… pretty humbling to get to share these moments with people… Short story? Seth and Steph are awesome, Ashlynn Grace is adorable, I’m lucky, and here are some of the photos…

emersonmade

Just woke up, coffee in hand, and found emersonmade! Their blog is full ideas of how you can incorporate these wonderful little flowers into your life/wedding.  I’m crazy about the flower centerpiece (below) and also the idea of giving them as bridesmaids gifts. These flowers would be lovely in a home, sewed to a ribbon as a belt, attached to a clutch, or even as atop the front of a ballet flat. For the right kind of wedding, they would be a brilliant replacement to the traditional flowers. Yes, as you can see, I’m smitten.
